Nicaragua Surfing
Nicaragua has great surf! Its Pacific Coastline is angled in such a way that south swells wrap into to several bays and beaches creating the perfect conditions. In addition, the wind blows off shore 360 days out of each year. To get an idea of what the waves are like here, we often refer to the world renowned wave at Witches Rock in northern Costa Rica. Although Costa Ricans will deny it, this is really a piece of Nicaragua reaching into Costa Rica. We get great waves all year long. Check out some recent Nicaragua surfing articles.
Tamarindo
One of the C21 teams favorite local spots. 10 minute drive from San Juan del Sur. This beach breaks on all tides with a rock sand bottom. It is a wave magnet.
Madera
This is the most consistent and quality wave within a 10 minute drive
from San Juan. Breaks on all tides and gets crowded, but worth it.
Remanso
A small half moon bay with a fun beach break. On big swells lefts
and rights wrap around the points. Wave gets better with size.
